Dash Speaker

Can anyone give me an idea of how the dash speaker mounts? I think there is some piece
missing? I tried a 6 x 9 speaker, but it just fell through the opening.
And any thoughts on a good replacment speaker, should I go for say 40 watt speaker

Re: Dash Speaker

I think your best option os t make a 6X9 work.  Seams to be the OEM speaker was some what custom for the application and I don't believe there is anything out there as a direct replacement.

Re: Dash Speaker

The original dash speaker is football shaped.   I made a template out of the side of a pepsi box, then I cut it out of some wainscoating panel I had leftover.

Then I put in some smaller round Pioneer speakers I got at Walmart.   I think they were either 4 1/2" round, or 5" round.    It all fit nicely.

Id like a good idea for some material that would hold up to the sun on the rear package tray.  I bought some 6 x 9 speaker grills with the musical note inside them for the look.

Re: Dash Speaker

thanks for the info...
I'll just cut out some metal to fit the opening, then cut it out for the speaker...
not to hard.
