I have just started work restoring my 64 hardtop and having a problem removing the bonnet and the guards.
Seems the bolts keep spinning and the locking nut on the other side of the bolts are corroded and turning with the bolt.
I can reach some of the locking nuts from inside the guard but not much luck with the others, particularly the bonnet.
Any suggestions?

"bonnet" ?? what part are you referring to when you say bonnet?? I have found that if I have a bolt that the just spins and I cant get to the back side the best way to remove it is to drill through the head and pop it off. I have taken quite a few bolts off that way. often times you need to clamp them with vice grips to hold them while drilling but other than that it works great. I am sure you are wanting to save the hardware but in most cases if the back side is so rusted that the the clip brakes or comes loose the fastener cant be saved anyway.

Bonnet and guards. He's referring to hood and fenders. He must be one of us Aussies.

Thanks for the advice, have now drilled out a couple of the bolts without any issues so should have the bonnet and guards off without too many problems. ..
