Questions about my 66 Galaxie's trim pieces.

Just removed the side trim pieces from my 66 Galaxie and had a few questions.
I thought I had broken the rear quarter letters pulling them off, but looking at them the pins were either pressed or glued into the letters. Any thoughts on remounting the pins?

Also what type of paint do I use for the 500 emblems?

One last question. The front fender badges, were they always bare metal or did they have color to them?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Questions about my 66 Galaxie's trim pieces.

I'd guess the pins are glued in. The emblems are probably pot metal and that might make soldering, or brazing difficult. I'd try a good epoxy. On the 500 emblems a satin black paint should work. SEM makes a trim black paint that should look good. Good catylized paint and satin clear might provide longer life, but only if you have the equipment.
