Were the rear leaf springs on a 1960 Ford Sunliner painted black or installed without any paint? The springs on my car have been exposed to the elements for the last 59 years so it is hard to tell if they were painted when installed at the factory. The area under the insulators appears be darkened by the rubber insulators but I can't determine if they were painted or natural finish. Thanks.

I finally got my answer from an old picture of 1960 Fords on an auto transport. The rear springs appear to be unpainted from the factory.
