    What does the gear drive portion look like? Does this old system look anything like the newer motors with the gear drive attached? I'm just thinking about the piles of window motors I see in Princess Auto and wonder if those units could be adapted? That may be easier than searching and salvaging something at the wreckers.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I stop in there frequently. A gear drive motor won't work. Ford used electric motors with a round shaft with portion cut flat. The shaft on the motor and the shaft on the regulator are connected with a rubber coupler. See my pics in this post to view shaft.
