Hi pkevins,
thank you for your answer.
You're right about the different versions of the car and the shoes that come with it.
My question is rather related to the drums sizes.
Would does the drum size (height, not I.D.) also change with the shoe size or can I run 2 1/2" and 2 1/4" shoes in the same drum that is say 11 x 2 1/2"?
Since you've mentioned the backing plates: Any way how I can tell from looking at those plates for what shoes they were made? I have reason to believe that the car has not always received correct replacement parts but rather what was quickly available...
Thanks
Philip

What does the shop manual say? A quick look online does seem to show the same drum used for the different width shoes. If you are going for a concours restoration then you want to have it as it was born, but you have to know if it was born with different width drums, otherwise it just doesn't matter. If your front drums fit on the rear just fine, then you know you can run that width drum and get a new part anywhere.
