imho...take it all off sell it and fill holes with body filler. Maybe paint some lines or pinstripe. Reanodizing is $$$$$ and stripping and polishing also a pain. I used "Instant hair and grease remover"...black bottle similar to draino brush on with toothbrush. let it bubble up then rinse. repeat. Then polish. Once stripped and polished you must continue to polish regularly (maybe 2 to 4 times a year) and keep out of the weather. I bought like 300.00 worth of aftermarket clips of all sorts. Dennis carpenter catalog has a letter coded map to go by. The aftermarket clips are not flexible as the originals. I ended breaking about 1/2 of them trying to get them to flex. I bent up some of my trim trying to beat the trim into the clips that I did manage to sqeeze into the holes in the car. I bought the trim clip pliers but they were no help as the clips don't flex. I'm mainly talking about the square clips that go in the square holes. These are the ones I had the most problem with. If I had to do it again I would prob just not put the trim on. But if you must I strongly recommend not using the square clips that go in the square holes. Use the ones that have wings a wire you bend and
have the 3/8 nut that threads on. You may have to use a long extension and swivel to get a socket on but at least you wont beat and ruin your trim. Also if you pull off the rain gutter trim, don't paint the rain gutters or your may have to grind and sand them down to get the rain gutter chrome back on.
On last thing. The clips that hold the trim on above the windshield must be bent prior to put on the car. you must flex the clips so that the distance from top to bottom of clip is closer and the clip curves more. This is the only way the trim will snap in place. Buy an extra one and practice bending it a shoving in into the channel on your trim before installing any of them on the car.
