Hi All- I'm getting ready to head north again and resume work on my 64 Galaxie with a 400/351C headed race motor.
Does anyone have an old parts book that lists the part # for this balancer?
Also, do I need to replace the oil seal or anything when I replace the balancer?
Thanks,

It turned out to be a shear pin on the distributor...got sheared.

I am having a lot of trouble with trying to get this car to start. It just died the other day and backfired a few times as it rolled to a stop.
Every time I crank it, I just get a few backfires and carb sputters.
I have since checked and added more grounds, I had replaced the old coil with a MSD Blaster 2 coil that came with a ballast resistor, which it said I must use. There was already a ballast resistor in the car.

The ignition wire is pretty thick. Could that be a loom resistor wire and be causing problems when I have another resistor on the wire?

I also replaced the Unilite distributor module. I checked and it does work.

Per the instructions and MSD techs, I have the dist. red wire going to the ignition wire end of the ballast resistor, green to the negative coil and brown to ground (- battery terminal).

I am getting 10-10.5 volts from the ignition switch to the ballast. I also ran a jumper wire from the battery positive to the ignition end of ballast and am getting the same volts. The battery itself, which is brand new, is showing about the same volts, as did the old one I just traded in.

Any idea as to why it will not start?
Thanks

I don't see a way to post pics.
Spell check got me the scale has ATC at the bottom and BTC at the top with 24 hashmarks in 6 groups of 4.
It is a circle track racing engine with a 400 block and 351C 4V heads, so I think it is a 400 balancer.

Thanks!

Does anyone have a good pic or illustration of the timing marks on a 400 balancer?
I can’t read mine hardly at all and need to find out where the tdc mark is.
There is an atc at one end of the marks and by cat the other.
Thanks.

Thanks. I will check them out. Not sure if they are mandrel bent, but these may be my only option.

Does anyone make a system like this for the 64 Galaxie?
If not, what have you guys done for exhaust systems?
Thanks.

Sorry I misspoke. I think the term is footwell, not wheelwell.
The carpet company wants to know.
