Problem with 1969/70 Ford LTD/Galaxie brake hoses

Manufacturers of brake hoses seem to have decided that the straight hose with the screw on fitting that is used on later Fords, fit the older brake calipers.  They do not!  The fitting points straight into the lower steering knuckle.   The original hose uses a banjo fitting.  Has anyone ran into this same problem and have a part number for a banjo style hose that will work?

Are you looking for front disc brake hoses? Why not get the correct hoses with the correct fittings? Look at Brake Hoses Unlimited for DOT compliant hoses in rubber, or stainless steel. When I do mine, these will likely be the ones I get. However, it looks like they had a fire and are currently not open. I'm sure there are others with the correct Ford ends.

Re: Problem with 1969/70 Ford LTD/Galaxie brake hoses

Thank you for finding those for me.   Wow.  Look at that price.  Those do look exactly like the originals, yes.

I did more checking and research today.   First, its a 3/8 banjo fitting, so the first ones I posted are definately out.  The originals are 16 inches long.    I tried passenger side 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra brake hoses, they have a slight bend in them and I believe could easily be made to work just fine.   Then I found these.    This is the cost effective ticket.   Just need frame mounting brackets.   This is a retrofit onto a 63 Galaxie, and not a stock application.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Problem with 1969/70 Ford LTD/Galaxie brake hoses

here is a picture of the hose, it came in from the Rock today.  And the wrong hose with the screw end.  They all say that fits, but that is clearly for a drum brake car.

It is 2 inches longer than the original, application 1983 E 100   H 80976 and H80975  There is a left and right as you can see they are slightly offset.

And here is what the obsolete originals (still supplied by a specialty brake company)  look like. Along with their specialty price.  LOL   10.41 for 2 of the above from Rock Auto shipped.

I believe Auto Krafters has the hoses to fit you Galaxie.

Re: Problem with 1969/70 Ford LTD/Galaxie brake hoses

Let us know how the van hoses fit and work on the car. My concern with with a hose that is longer is that it might might not stay out of the way and get rubbed by the tire when the wheels are turned. The hose has to be long enough, but too long has the potential to be problematic.
